Take your hot dogs to the next level with sizzling peppers and onions cooked directly on the griddle. Smoky, sweet, and full of flavor—this is street food done right at home.
Ingredients:
- 4 hot dogs (beef, pork, or chicken)
- 4 hot dog buns, toasted
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: mustard, ketchup, jalapeños, shredded cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat the griddle to medium heat. Add olive oil or butter.
- Cook the veggies: Add onions and peppers, seasoning with salt and pepper. Sauté for 6–8 minutes until softened and slightly charred. Stir in garlic during the last minute. Move veggies to the side of the griddle.
- Grill the hot dogs: Place hot dogs on the griddle and cook, rolling occasionally, until evenly browned and heated through (about 5–7 minutes).
- Toast the buns: Place buns cut-side down on the griddle until lightly golden.
- Assemble: Place each hot dog in a bun, top generously with the pepper and onion mixture, and add your favorite condiments.
Griddle Tip: For extra kick, toss in diced jalapeños with the peppers, or finish with a drizzle of spicy mustard.
